What do you like to post in your Tumblr?
Anything that catches my eye, really. This is my personal Tumblr, where I can post/reblog interesting facts, pictures, videos, thoughts, opinions, etc. Usually, I like to post pictures of things that interest me, so you’ll see a lot of posts about food, travel, TV and film, art, Hayao Miyazaki, anime/manga, quotes, and people.
Where do you get your pictures/videos/interviews?
For pictures, I either reblog them from other tumblr blogs or I make my own picspams/manips/graphic edits. For videos and interviews, I usually find them on YouTube. Anything I find online/isn’t mine, I will give the proper credit.
Useful terms to know on Tumblr?
AU = alternative universe; story set in different universe from the canon.
Canon = verifiable fact in a given fandom.
Crossover = when characters exist or are transported to another story’s world, e.g. Harry Potter and Star Wars crossover may consist of Harry joining the Rebel Alliance to help Luke, Leia, and Han stop Darth Vader.
Oneshot = a fanfic that consists of only one chapter.
OOC = out of character; used in stories/fanfic when the personality/actions of a character do not match with that established in canon.
OTP = one true pairing. Used in fandom, it describes your preferred combination of characters.
Portmanteau = blend of two words into one new word, e.g. Oxbridge (Oxford and Cambridge).
Shipping = rooting for a romantic relationship between two fictional characters. Can apply to any kind of relationship. Shippers (people involved in shipping) believe that a relationship does exist, will exist, or simply would like one to exist between their preferred characters.
Slash = a subgenre in fanfic that depicts romantic relationships between fictional characters of the same sex.
